Mamie Mitchell, the script supervisor of the film ‘Rust,’ filed a lawsuit on November 17 against actor Alec Baldwin and other producers involved in the fatal shooting that took place on the film set in October.
‘Before Halyna was shot and killed, and our director Joel was shot and injured on this set of ‘Rust,’ my life was fairly simple. And I was generally a very healthy and happy woman,’ Mitchell said in a press conference on Wednesday. ‘This violent tragedy has taken away the joy in my life. I have also lost a new friend who was an extraordinary and rare person and future collaborator.’
On October 21, Baldwin fired a prop gun on set, shooting and killing the film’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, and injuring the director, Joel Souza.
Mitchell’s attorney, Gloria Allred, said Baldwin’s behavior was akin to playing ‘Russian Roulette’ and ‘reckless.’
