BIDEN RECEIVES COVID-19 VACCINE ON CAMERA: President-elect Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden are receiving their first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. Biden has said that he wanted to wait until health care and hospital workers on the front lines were able to get vaccinated first before getting it himself. ‘I don’t want to get ahead of the line, but I want to make sure we demonstrate to the American people that it is safe to take,’ Biden explained. His vaccination comes as VP Pence and other leaders in Congress received their first doses of the vaccine last week. Pres. Trump, who tested positive for coronavirus in October and spent three nights at Walter Reed Medical Center, is not expected to receive the vaccine anytime soon. The Bidens are receiving their shots on camera as part of a nationwide campaign to encourage Americans to get the vaccine once available to them. Former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton have all also volunteered to receive the vaccine publicly and on camera to promote the safety of the vaccine and show their confidence in science.
