Māori Artist Tāme Iti Corrects Name Misspelling on Painting, Owner Calls It ‘Vandalism’

Māori artist and activist Tāme Iti took it upon himself to fix a misspelling of his name on a painting hanging inside a New Zealand hotel.

Though the artist of the painting apologized to Iti for the mistake, the owner of the artwork described the move as ‘vandalism.’
