The House committee investigating the January 6 insurrection is seeking electronic communications related to the attack, including from members of Congress. Committee Chair Rep. Bennie Thompson told reporters that the panel will be sending letters to telecommunication and social media companies, requesting phone records and relevant documents. If the companies do not comply, Thompson said the committee will issue subpoenas.
